Advanced Skills Batting Tee by Muhl Tech
Advanced Skills Tee (AST) batting tees are simply the best versatile batting tees in the market. Unlike regular batting tees, the advanced skills tee has a forward arm to get rid of “dipping” or uppercut style swings and a flexible outside barrier to minimize “casting” and looping bats simultaneously during batting practice. The incomparable brush cup ball holder provides a clean swish through the ball. Designed by a high school coach, the advanced skills tee is made from long lasting polyurethane to withstand high bat speeds and demanding team practices.
Why the Forward Arm?
In fact, the inquiry really should be “Why not a forward arm?”. You don’t strike the ball off the center of the plate (as standard batting tees advocate). You make contact in front of the plate. But there are two other equally crucial reasons to use a forward arm model:.
1. The forward arm eradicates “dipping” or dropping the hands and trailing shoulder to lift the ball with a “looping” form swing. If you “dip” with the AST, you hit the back of the arm. It urges you to take the bat straight down to the ball, leveling off the swing at the site of connection.
2. The forward arm also swivels and rotates to set the ball on the inside or outside of the strike region. Then, the arm points in the direction to drive the ball based on pitch location (i.e. pull the inside pitch, go with the outside pitch to the opposite field … “Hit the ball where it’s pitched “).
What is the Purpose of the Outside Barrier?
The outside barrier minimizes “casting”. It manages to keep you form swinging “long” and serves to help you “keep the hands inside the ball”. If the bat or arms are extended prematurely the bat head will whack the pliable upright barrier post. For years coaches have set a tee adjacent to a fence or screen to force hitters to condense their swing. The outside barrier does the very same thing except it is a lot more productive. It rotates around the tee to conform to LH or RH hitters and it moves along with the forward arm to help you keep the hands “tight” when you are working on inside and outside pitch locations. With the outside barrier you are pressured to rotate the hips and torso and extend the hands only at the point of contact. It produces a “quick” bat and more power as well.
Get a Clean “Swish” through the Ball!
Our one-of-a-kind brush cup ball holder presents the ball just like it is being picked clean, right out of the air. Better yet, it will last many times longer than regular ball holders.
What Makes the Advanced Skills Tee So Long lasting?
The tubing for the advanced skills tee is formed from polyurethane. Polyurethane is a pliable material similar to rubber; however, polyurethane is much stronger and more durable than rubber (as much as 10 times more durable!). Wheels for roller blades, industrial rollers, and dimpled pitching machine balls are among the many items typically made with urethane. It’s a fantastic material for products that must endure impact and stress yet stay flexible. Urethanes are costly, and whilte the advanced skills tee may cost more than a standard rubber tee, it is guaranteed to last 10 times longer too. The Advanced Skills Tees is backed with a two-year warranty.
Practical and Portable.
The advanced skills tee can be put together or dismantled, by hand, for easy storing and transport. And, it uses a hollow, canteen fashion base that is loadeded with sand or water (and sealed with a rubber plug). When filled, the base supplies weight for stability and when empty, the base is lightweight and portable.
